COLOSSIANS 3:1-4
1So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
HEAR:
Spend time this morning thanking God that he has raised you to new life in Christ.
In verses 5-9, Paul tells the church to put to death what belongs to their earthly nature. Which of these do you need to put to death this morning? Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal these to you.
In verse 17, Paul tells the church to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and to give thanks to God the Father through him. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with a spirit of gratitude and the power to keep Christ at the center of everything you do this week.
RESPOND:
Collectively spend time this morning thanking God that he has raised us to new life in Christ. Pray for the Gospel to take fresh roots in our lives, filling us with gratitude and peace (v. 15).
Intercede for the Church in Boston. Ask God to grow us in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forbearance, forgiveness, and ultimately, love. (v. 12-14).
Ephesians 2 reminds us that God not only raised us with Christ, but he also “seated us with him in the heavens in Christ Jesus.” Pray for a reminder of our identity, purpose, and authority in Christ.
