ROMANS 11:33-36
33 Oh, the depth of the riches
and the wisdom and the knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments
and untraceable his ways!
34 For who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?
35 And who has ever given to God,
that he should be repaid?,
36 For from him and through him
and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever. Amen.
PSALM 36:5-7
5 Lord, your faithful love reaches to heaven,
your faithfulness to the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
your judgments like the deepest sea.
Lord, you preserve people and animals.
7 How priceless your faithful love is, God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
HEAR:
What is God saying to you? Spend some time in listening prayer:
Spend time reflecting on the words “unsearchable” and “untraceable.” Mediate on the vastness of God.
It’s not just God’s impersonal qualities (knowledge and wisdom) that are unsearchable, but his personal qualities too (love and faithfulness). Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh with God’s love this morning.
The Lord is our protector. Reflect on what it looks like to “take refuge in the shadow of his wings.”
RESPOND:
Respond to God in prayer:
Intercede for those in your life who do not know Christ and may view God as far off and impersonal. Ask God to reveal himself in a new way to them.
Boldly ask God to move in our city. Ask him to build up his church in unity and to rely not upon our methods - but his power.
Spend time worshipping and declaring praise to the Lord for how powerful and faithful he is.
